New Now...

Supersize your skills this September

We're inviting students and recent graduates to join us for a free series of bite-sized, expert-led workshop sessions, designed to kickstart your progress into industry.

Since our beginnings in 2001, we've been designing ways to connect industry with emerging talent so that knowledge, learning and ideas can be valuably exchanged. YCN has developed in lots of ways, but this idea is still fundamental to what we do — and brought to life through the New Now programme.

A large part of YCN's broader work today involves helping creatively-driven organisations from around the world build new skills and capabilities throughout their teams. That could be big global retailers like Dr. Martens and Lush Cosmetics, tech-maestros like WeTransfer and Farfetch or leading creative agencies like Koto and forpeople. And so we've learned lots about the best ways to bring people together; and getting them thinking differently, trying out new tools and techniques to then take away and apply to whatever they're looking to achieve. We've also learned a lot about the skills and mindsets that they're looking for in the graduates they want to bring into their businesses.

To share this learning, this September we are going to be running some short, focused and energising workshop sessions specially designed around some of the skills we believe are important to have when embarking on the world of work — from building confidence for that first interview, to helping you prime your portfolio. These 90 minute sessions will be delivered to groups of up to 20 people, and generously hosted in the colourful Imagination Papers Studio of our partners Fedrigoni in central London.

The sessions will be delivered by subject experts from within the YCN team, and from industry too. We'll be creating an open and engaging space in which to build valuable and relevant skills, and to learn from the experiences of others.

Details of each session can be found below, as well as how to reserve a free space. We'd love to have you along.

Better Listening, Better Questioning

Often overlooked, the ways we show we're listening and the questions we ask go a long way to making the right impression — whether in an interview or when talking to clients. By the end of this session you'll be a master of both.
Thursday 19th September, 9.30 - 11.30am
