New Now...
This summer we'll welcome a talented group to YCN, creating space to work, learn and build capability —  connecting with knowledge and opportunities across our network.

Since YCN began in 2001 we've been fortunate to meet and support a wealth of extraordinary, emerging creative talents — welcoming them into our spaces for internships, project based learning, portfolio critiques, peer learning groups, window display commissions, exhibitions and much more too.

Illustrators like Alice Bowsher, Jack Hughes and Joe Cruz; designers like Millie Scarlett Davies, Alex Bec and Will Hudson; and handy maestros like Kyle Bean and Hattie Newman — all spent time with us at the beginning of their burgeoning businesses; contributing their creativity, sharpening their craft and learning from each other.

This summer we'll welcome a curated group of 'Creatives in Residence' for a structured sojourn with us. The purpose is to accelerate their progress in the creative world of work, building their capability through access to YCN's spaces, programme, resources and network.

The opportunity is primarily aimed at people to have graduated within the last 1-4 years — and with a specific freelance practice; people taking on commissions either independently, as a pair or small collective. That might be illustrators, animators, designers or other such practitioners.

Over a 4-6 week period we'll provide you workspace within our spaces on Rivington Street in Shoreditch, access to workshops on topics like networking and negotiating, as well as visits from smart minds within brands, agencies and specialists businesses across our network, who will share their knowledge and expertise. That could be an IP specialist, or a creative director. You'll be working and learning among a supportive group of peers; and we'll be calling in project briefs too, aiming to create connections for commissions and collaborations.

If this sounds like a timely and valuable opportunity, please first drop us a line to hello@ycn.org — telling us a little about the work you're doing now, and the work you'd like to be doing next.
